- The way we move we go on collecting things at material level, knowledge on the intelectual level, and exprience on the sensual and physical level.
- With every experience and achievement, we build up our egoand create an enclosurearound us.

Strength of Character
-SWAMI VIVEKANANDA
Character is the sum total of a person's values, beliefs and personality. It is reflected in our behaviour and in your actions. It needs to be preserved more than the richest jewel in the world. To be a winner takes character. George Washington said, " I hope i shall always possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most valuable of all tittle, the character of an honest man."
Most of our behaviour is habitual- Comes automatically without thinking. Our character is the sum total of our habits. If we have positive habits, then we have good character. Conversely, if we have negative habits, others will find our character lacking. Habits are a lot stronger than logic and reasoning. In the life cycle of habit formation, a habit starts by being to weak to be felt, and ends up becoming too strong to get out of. Habits can be developed by default or determination. If we don't decide what habits to form, by default we many end up with bad habits.
If you really want to judge of the character of a man, look not at his great performance. Every fool may become a hero at once time or another. Watch a man do his most common actions; those are indeed the things which will tell you the real character of a great man.
The ability to show courage in the face of adversity; show self-restraint in the face of temptation, choose happiness in the face of hurt, show character in the face of despair, and see opportunity in the face of obstacles are all valuable traits to possess. But these traits do not just appear; they are the result of constant and consistent training, our mental and physical. In the face of adversity, our behaviour, weather positive or negative can only be what we have practiced. When we practice negative traits such as Cowardice or dishonesty in small events, and hope to handle major events in a positive way, it won't happen because that's not what we have practiced.
Every work that we do, every movement of the body, every thought that we think, leaves an impression on the mind-stuff, and Even when such impressions are not obvious on the surface, they are sufficiently strong to work beneath the surface, subconsciously. What we are every moment is determined by the sum total of these impressions on the character; each man,s character is determined by the sum total of these impressions. If good impressions prevail, the character becomes good; if bad, it becomes bad. If a man continuously hears bad words, thinks bad thoughts, does bad actions, his mid will be full of bad impressions and they will influence his thought and work with out his being conscious of the fact. He will be like a machine in the hands of his impressions, and they will forces him to do evil, and that man will be a bad man; he cannot help it. Similarly, if a man thinks good thoughts and does good works, the sum total of this impressions will be good and they, in a similar manner, will force him to do good, even in spite of himself. When such is the case, a man's good character is said to be established.
-SWAMI VIVEKANANDA
Under adverse circumstances, some people break records and others break down. John F. Kennedy once said that it is a mark of character how well person behaves when things are not going well. When things are going well for us, it is easy to be logical, kind and gracious. But when things aren't going well and we're under lot of pressure, some people can't think clearly and snap at others around them, while others remain clear-headed and continue to treat others with respect.Adversity reveals a persons character.
There is a Russian saying;"A hammer shatters glass but forges steel"There is a lot of truth in the saying. Are we made of glass or steel?it is the same hammer.Just as carbon determines the quality of steel, character determines the quality of a man.
Character-building starts from infancy and goes on until death.Character does not need success. It is success.Just like gardener has to keep weeding to prevent weeds from eating the life of the garden,we need to keep building and developing our character by weeding out our faults.
Ability will get you success;character will keep you successful. someone once said,"our thoughts lead to actions, actions lead to habits, and habits form character."character leads to destiny.
The only remedy for bad habits is counter habits;all the bad habits that have left their impressions are to be controlled by good habits.Go on doing good, thinking holy thoughts continuously;that is the only way to suppress base impressions.Never say any ma is hopeless, because he only represents a character,a bundle of habits, which can be checks by new and better ones.Character is repeated habits, and repeated habits alone can reform character.

A balance between these three humors is vital for good health; imbalance of any one or more results in disease. In present times,a perfect balance of these three humors is seldom seen.Due to hereditary factors, generallly one humor dominates the other two right from birht, giving the person a prakruti or a constitution. For example , a person who has an excess of vaata humor in his body is said to be possessing a Vaata-constitution or suffering from Vaata-dosha(dosha=fault or imbalance),Similarly ,people having an excess of Pitta humor or Kapha humor in their bodies are said to be possessing pitta constitution or kapha constitution respectively. Such dosha develops specific traits and susceptibilites in the owner , renderning him prone to certain diseases.
It may also happen that two (or some times all thre) humors are deranged(i.e in excess). Sich people are said to be having mix constituions.

- Is it hard to maintain a normal figure?
- Then this post is for you

Dangers of overweight
Two thousand five hundred years age Hippocrates,"the father of medicine,"and a very keen observer, noted that "fat men die suddenly!" This is still true. Not in every case,of course,bu sudden death occurs so often in fat people that doctors must raise a note of warning.Especially is this true in people who are sluggish and steadily gaining weight. In other words, the longer your waist, the Short your life line! Yes,it is very important to watch your weight, not allowing yourself to become too thin or too fat,but trying to remain near the ideal.
Most youngsters in their teens,if they are healthy and active, are fairly close to the ideal weight for their size and age.Why do so many of them change as they grow older?Usually because they no longer are as active as they were.
Changes often come o in the late twenties, reducing a person's physical fitness.Sluggish habits begin to develop as the individual loses his skill in running, swimming,or other healthy activities.Yet in spite of warning from nature, they continue losing their athletic figure. What a pity to change that youthful silhouette for a flabby, paunchy, unattractive appearance!
"but"you say "aren't most plump people rather jolly and good-natures?"Yes,that is quite true. They are usually pleasant and easy to get along with, but they are still overweight.most of them give all manner of excuses for their fatness. But in almost every case the only reason is that they are eating more than they themselves really need.In other words, extra weight is due to extra eating.
it is surprising what just a few extra calorics a day more than more actually needed will do to a fine,youthful-looking appearance. For instance,if you take just one extra slice of bread a day above your actual needs and continue this for five years you will add 45 pounds to your figure! In ten years you will gained 90 pounds. But the trouble doesn't stop there, not by any means.
All this extra fat puts a strain on your heart, kidneys, and liver, and also on the large weight-bearing joints, such as the hips, knees, and ankles. This means your body is wearing out more rapidly, carrying around all this extra weight. Those excess calories in your diet can be deadly. You are shortening your life at your own dining table.
Common illnesses of the mind and people
- Nervous problems are more common than all other illnesses combines.
- They affect people of every age and race, and there seems to be no end to the number of those who are sick because of anxiety, nervous tension, or emotional stress.
- Nor are the so-called nervous people the only ones affected.
- Many others with heart disease, high blood pressure, arthritis, and other types of illness are also under great stress and strain because of their physical condition.
Nervous disorders can be roughly divided into two main classes or groups-those arising from neurotic problems, and those related to psychotic or disturbed personalities.
Common illnesses of the mind and people
Nervous disorders can be roughly divided into two main classes or groups-those arising from neurotic problems, and those related to psychotic or disturbed personalities.People with neurotic problems are more or less normal in their reactions. They may be over-anxious,or perhaps saddened or depressed, but even in their darkest moments they are always in touch with reality.in other words, they are not so different from rest of us,expect that under the pressures of living they tend to go to extremes.as we think of them we might even begin to recognize some of our peculiarities and those of our friends!
Neurotic personalities
Neurotic personalities — Historical Context
Reference: Neurotic personalities is presented here as a concise topic note. The useful approach is to understand the basic concept, consider the context in which it applies, and verify version-specific or specialist details before acting on the information.
Where the subject affects health, safety, privacy, finances, or system configuration, use appropriate professional or authoritative guidance for decisions that carry meaningful risk.
Neurotic personalities
Cicero, the great Roman philosopher, said,"The diseases of the mind are more numerous and more destructive than those of the body."He was right, but often the true situation is not recoginized. As a result, many of these unhappy people find themselves wandering from one doctor's office to another, always seaching for a solution, never finding that inner peace they so much desire.sometimes these unfortunate suffers may actually dream up a few extra symptoms to help them gain sympathy! They worry their friends, their families, their employers, their pastors their attorneys, and physicians.
Every doctor's reception room has its share of these unhappy people Many of them feel guilty over real or imaginary situations.Others are afraid of heart trouble, high blood pressure, and cancer. They act as if they are being punished for what they did or did not do.These peculiar guilt feelings always seem to stem from early childhood. As these neurotic people grow older, they often tend to exchange one set of symptoms for another, until finally they reach old age .yet none of this really necessary, with proper care and pranayam or treatment,,most of these problems can be solved.
How to Lose Weight Sensibly
How to Lose Weight Sensibly
- dieting is not new to most people who are overweight.
- They have all tried this many times before.
- some are so incensed at what their Friends are saying about them that they will go without food entirely for a short time, only to return again to their former habits of overeating.
- Going to extremes rarely does any permanent good.
